Our focus in the infant room is on the individual and personal care needs of the child. Materials within the classroom have been carefully selected to provide stimulation of the senses, manipulation, and natural learning experiences.
Curriculum areas specifically emphasized within the infant room include: language development (communicating with children, singing, listening to books, babbling, vocalizing, repeating sounds, etc.) and practical life (developing independence, motor skills such grasping, rolling over, squeezing, using fingers, pulling up, crawling, etc.). The infant room curriculum is guided by the GELDS (Georgia Early Learning and Development Standards) provided by BFTS.
Children in the infant room will be afforded the opportunity to go outside during the day for supervised exploration. The infant playground has been carefully designed to allow for safe, comfortable, and stimulating outdoor activities with an emphasis on gross and fine motor skills.
